It Ain’t Half Hard Mum by Ed
Well, I am an idiot. While planning this run, I decided to run 5.5 miles away from the office and then back again, totalling 11 miles. While doing it, I got confused and plotted a journey 6.5 miles long, meaning a grand total of 13 miles! So while everyone else is running 11, stupid head Ed ran a bloody half marathon.

This was the longest, hardest run I have ever done. I was running for over 2 hours. I felt fine as I jogged from the office all the way to Seton Sands caravan park
and even on the beginning of the way back. As I ran back along towards Musselburgh, I don’t know what happened, maybe this is ‘the wall’ people talk about but my body just dropped to about 50% of normal. I had nothing in the tank. I kept going but felt like I was at half speed. I had a numb right hand and felt a little dizzy. I was contemplating eating some berries of the bushes but in the end, decided against it
One good thing came of this mistake, I now know I can run a Half Marathon and in a not bad time.
Because of the switch around with the days, there was no Monday rest day and Week 5 begins on Tuesday, wonder how I will feel then. My legs right now are so knackered I cant describe it!

I forgot to mention. I have burns on my thighs, just below my buttocks and on the base of my back where my cycling shorts rubbed. I think I may need to borrow some of Jack’s Sudocrem!
[…] furthest I have ever ran is 13.1 miles (once in training, once in the Edinburgh Forthside Half Marathon) so as you can imagine I was now beginning to worry […]
